Approximately 1,500 to 2,000 people, mostly from Pakistan, Iran, and Morocco are protesting in the border zone between Greece and Macedonia near the northern Greek border town of Idomeni. They are demanding to cross into neighboring non-EU Macedonia and then on to northern Europe. In the last two days the so-called economic migrants blocked the crossing for Syrian and Iraqi refugees. Macedonian authorities cannot confirm the death of one migrant, who according to Reuters was electrocuted and died on Thursday during a second successive day of clashes between police and migrants stranded for weeks on the Greek side of the border. RFE/RL reporter Vladiir Kalinski made this video report.
